Essential 3D Printing Tools and Accessories

A 3D printer is just the beginning. The right tools turn a rough print into a finished piece you are proud to display. These are the tools I use daily in my workshop for post-processing, finishing, and assembling 3D printed props and miniatures.
Post-Processing Essentials
Every print needs some cleanup. Flush cutters remove supports cleanly. A deburring tool smooths edges without removing too much material. Sanding sponges in progressive grits (120, 220, 320) give you a smooth finish ready for primer. A heat gun helps with warped parts and can smooth layer lines on PLA prints.
Assembly and Finishing
For multi-part prints, you need reliable adhesives. Superglue gel works for quick bonds on small parts. E6000 is better for structural bonds on larger assemblies. Magnets let you create removable parts — great for cosplay pieces that need to come apart for transport. And an assorted screw kit handles mechanical joints.
Safety Equipment
Do not skip safety gear. Nitrile gloves protect your hands from resin and chemicals. Safety glasses prevent eye exposure. A respirator with organic vapor cartridges is essential for resin printing and spray painting. A silicone mat protects your workspace from resin spills.
